All the fourth graders made this a very hard show to cast! You all brought it at auditions. There are so many fun parts in this play, and I hope we will all be able to enjoy putting on this show together.
Thank you for your patience with the cast lists. I have been waiting for some final audition submissions. I decided to post the finalized lists for most classes. Poulakas's cast list will be posted as soon as possible. Some students have been cast in more than one role. Please change any pronouns in your script to match the actor's gender. For example, several casts have a female Jack. In that case, please change all pronouns for Jack from he/his to she/her. Check your class' cast list for your unique casting and make adjustments accordingly. An adapted script will be posted on Schoology this week for Margolis, Nitz, and Roy's classes. Margolis' class, please note: Stepmother is now Stepfather. Girl is now Boy 1. Boy is now Boy 2. Old Woman is now Old Brother 1. Old Man is now Old Brother 2. There are several changes to the Stinky Cheese Man scene and some in the Cinderumpelstiltskin scene. Everyone in those scenes should look at the adapted script. Nitz's class, please note: Girl is now Boy 1. Boy is now Boy 2. Please look at the changes to the Stinky Cheese Man scene. Roy's class, please note: Stepmother is now Stepfather. Old Woman is now Old Brother 1. Old Man is now Old Brother 2. There are several changes to the Stinky Cheese Man scene and some in the Cinderumpelstiltskin scene. Everyone in those scenes should look at the adapted script. The cast list is final with exceptions made by teacher discretion. I do not anticipate making any changes at this point. If you have any questions regarding your role or responsibilities, send me an email and I will be happy to schedule a time to discuss the cast list with you. the_stinky_cheese_man_cast_list_-_roy.pdf the_stinky_cheese_man_cast_list_-_richardson.pdf the_stinky_cheese_man_cast_list_-_nitz.pdf the_stinky_cheese_man_cast_list_-_margolis.pdf the_stinky_cheese_man_cast_list_-_champney.pdf

The 4th grade students all did such a nice job at their music performance! They had so many creative script ideas to share.
Our next unit will be an in class play. Every student will audition, rehearse, and perform towards the end of the year. Cast lists will be posted the weekend after auditions. Check back here to see! After our unit on how we use our bodies, we explored how we can use our voices. We continued using Laban techniques to challenge our ways of expressing. The students collaborated together to make recordings of fairy tale scripts using expression, articulation, and specific emotion and Laban choices.
This year we are going to be exploring the language of theatre, how art is produced through creating, performing, and responding, and how theatre is connected to our society.
We are beginning the year by discovering how we use our bodies to express emotions and convey meaning. The fourth graders are trying out the Laban Movement Analysis, a method of describing and interpreting each movement, as a basis for creating unique, physical characters. |
